On December 3, 2020, the middle section of the China-Russia East Line Natural Gas Pipeline (Changling in Jilin-Yongqing in Hebei) was officially put into operation, which means that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region can directly use Russian natural gas.
The relevant person in charge of the National Pipeline Network Group said that the completion and commissioning of the middle section of the China-Russia east line will help improve the air quality in the Bohai Rim region, stimulate economic development in areas along the line, and improve the regional energy structure. The middle section of the China-Russia east line is interconnected with the established Northeast Pipeline Network, North China Pipeline Network, Shaanxi-Beijing Pipeline System, Dalian LNG, Tangshan LNG, Liaohe Gas Storage, etc. It will effectively enhance the natural gas supply capacity and peak shaving emergency support capacity in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, increasing the gas supply capacity by 27 million cubic meters per day.
The China-Russia east line natural gas pipeline passes through 9 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in our country. 3,371 kilometers of new pipelines are built in the domestic section, and 1,740 kilometers of existing pipelines are utilized. The pipeline is constructed in phases according to the northern, central and southern sections. Among them, the northern section (Heihe, Heilongjiang - Changling, Jilin) was put into operation in December 2019; the southern section (Yongqing, Hebei - Shanghai) started construction in July this year.
Data from the National Pipeline Network Group shows that so far, the China-Russia east line has safely and stably transported nearly 4 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas. After the entire line is put into operation, the annual maximum gas transmission capacity will reach 38 billion cubic meters, benefiting 400 million people along the line.
It is reported that the China-Russia East Line Natural Gas Pipeline is the first 1422 mm ultra-large diameter, 12 MPa high pressure grade natural gas pipeline constructed in our country. It adopts digital, networked and intelligent management from the construction period to the operation period. It is a pilot project of our country's smart pipelines.
The 56-inch ball valve used by Chengdu Chenggao Valve Co., Ltd. on the China-Russia East Line is a "representative" of equipment localization. It has the characteristics of large diameter, high pressure, and is used in alpine areas. The manufacturing process is complex, the cycle is long, and the quality requirements are high, the valve's own weight is equivalent to the weight of a heavy tank. This is the first time that a domestically produced 56-inch large-diameter ball valve has been used in a domestic long-distance pipeline. It is also another major step in converting the company's technology research and development into the market, seizing the opportunity for the company's next development and growth!
